Montegrappa Made in Italy

Founded in 1912, Montegrappa or otherwise known as "Manufacturer of gold nibs and fountain pens", found itself in a key position during World War I. Among the many soldiers who used the company's pens (Elmo at that time) for their correspondence were two celebrated 20th century writers, Ernest Hemingway and John Dos Passos, who had both volunteered for service as ambulance drivers. Montegrappa's pens are reserved for those who can't live without the emotions inspired by the feel of a crafted writing instrument between their fingers, responding to their delicate movements. As they guide the Montegrappa pen across the paper, the eye follows the ink as it seeps in. Utilizing natural celluloid and precious metals, Montegrappa combines traditional methods such as die-casting with more recent innovations as low-relief engraving to form their precious art objects. Montegrappa's Italian heritage is known for their Deep Drawing one of the oldest and time consuming artisanal techniques used by Montegrappa since 1912. Montegrappa writing instruments are etched by hand and are finished totally hand made to correspond precisely to Montegrappa's specifications. Try one and discover the pleasure that can only be known through writing by hand.
