Tibaldi for Bentley Limited Edition

Tibaldi Bentley at Brooklands: Celebrating 100 years since the opening of the legendary Brooklands motor racing track, Bentley Motors proudly introduces the Bentley at Brooklands pen. Hand etched with a special Bentley at Brooklands racing motif, the pen evokes the grand style and exhilarating moments of Bentley victories on Brookland’s oval track. Conceived in collaboration with Tibaldi, specialists in precious, technical and collectible writing instruments, this special edition pen coincides with the launch of the magnificent Bentley Motors Brooklands Coupé.

Precious and Collectible: Tibaldi introduced Italy’s first fountain pen in 1916. Ever since, people from all walks of life have savored Tibaldi’s precious, reliable and collectible pens. The Bentley at Brooklands pen reflects the craft elements of the car, emulating its material palette and tactile quality. Bentley interior designers have designed a modern pen which captures some of the jewelry design elements from the interior of the Brooklands car.

Brooklands Pen Design: The pen’s lacquered metal in beluga black with palladium trim makes for a striking contrast with the hand etched silver barrel. The etching pattern on the pen’s barrel is designed by Bentley Interior Designer, Jonathan Punter. The composition, depicting two cars racing on the famous Brooklands banking, is inspired by artwork produced for the famous races at Brooklands with which Bentley is so strongly affiliated.

Tibaldi - A Pen of Divine Proportions: Phi, the concept known as the Divine Proportion, informs every aspect of the structure of all Tibaldi pens. For example, the proportion between the pen’s cap and the visible portion of the barrel when the pen is closed equals the phi ratio, 1.618. Even the pen’s accompanying case is measured in multiples of the phi coefficient.

Bentley Aesthetic: The etching and engraving known as knurling is well-known by Bentley drivers. Always found on functional handles and buttons such as indicators, media system controls and gear shifts, knurling ensures a secure grip. Knurling is echoed on all parts of the Bentley at Brooklands pen that require turning – such as the lid and the section. The sterling silver etched barrel of the pen bears the Sheffield Assay Office Bentley Hallmark.

Tibaldi Nibs: Like the original Tibaldi nibs from the early 1900s, each one is engraved with the guarantee of first class writing instruments – “1ª Qualità”, alongside the Bentley logo. Writing grades available are: fine (F), medium (M) and broad (B).

Brooklands Casing: The Bentley at Brooklands pens are presented in sumptuous veneered wooden cases. The box for the silver Bentley at Brooklands pens features the B in wings Bentley logo on its lid, echoing the distinctive badge on the Bentley Brooklands itself. Lined in leatherette, it contains a matching pen case.

Brooklands Limited Edition: Each Bentley at Brooklands pen is a precious limited edition writing instrument. The fountain pens and roller balls with a sterling silver barrel are limited to 550 pieces available worldwide.
